Hello, my name is Mikaela Taylor. You may know me from several Hill Country and San Antonio media outlets over the years. I’ve been broadcasting on most of the local radio stations throughout the years, doing mornings, middays, afternoons, sports, news, and even weather at times.

One of those media outlets or several, depending on which ones you may have followed, as over 100,000 people have, mainly locals, are the different “Breaking News” Facebook Groups and Pages that I created, including Texas Breaking News and all of its subsidiaries.

On January 16, 2025, Justin McClure, CEO and majority owner of JAM Broadcasting, who I let use my digital news assets while I was away from Kerrville, was informed that it was time for his wife, Leslee McClure, to return my intellectual property, in which he refused. His reply was ultimately to “sue him” and then he ghosted me and moments later, Leslee McClure blocked me from all of my news assets.

On October 26, 2022, Justin McClure and Leslee McClure both agreed to the terms of using my intellectual property, which were their idea, and they both agreed to return them upon my return to Kerrville. They could have them, unless I returned to Kerrville, and at that time, I had no idea what I was doing. I was having a personal mental crisis, and literally had no idea what I was doing. I should not have been making any major decisions, and the two people who knew that more than anyone, were Justin and Leslee McClure, as they were both closest to me at the time. When I told them I was going to leave Kerrville the next week, but that I cared about their success, both of them said, “Well, if you come back to Kerrville, you can have them back.” If that was not the agreement, I would not be publishing this right now.

I was diagnosed later on with Chronic PTSD, major depressive disorder, and general anxiety disorder from events that transpired shortly before my hiatus from Kerrville. Justin and Leslee both were both aware to the degree in which I was suffering. Leslee had witnessed a full blown panic attack at my house in September and it only got worse from there, until it finally got better.

I’ve made some incredible progress since then and am doing so much better now. The problem though, is that I’ve been back in Kerrville for over a year, and Justin and Leslee McClure have not lived up to their terms of the agreement, which were agreed to on October 26, 2022.

While I initially trusted Justin and Leslee McClure, I have recently learned that Leslee has been convicted for felony theft by check and has spent time in prison over it. Seven years after being released from prison, she was convicted again with a theft crime, this time a misdemeanor around the time that she met Justin. This was a period over 14 years of theft convictions. Justin, a member of a wealthy family, has provided a life to Leslee since in which there hasn’t been a reason for her to steal, until now. You can see her extensive criminal history, on the DPS website for like I think $6, which I’m not sure if I can legally share in its entirety, so I won’t, but I can tell you where to find it. Search here for Leslee McClure or Leslee Shields. Both of them return the same information. 

My news assets that they have at this point, deceptively stolen from me, are Texas Breaking News, Texas Breaking News Forum, Kerrville Breaking News, Fredericksburg Breaking News, and Bandera Breaking News. They refuse to return them. JAM Broadcasting is also in possession of JAM News Page, which I did give them completely, which was originally a Kerrville Breaking News page, and I did not ask for that back. The reason is, because I gave them 100% rights to that page only, before all of this. I also created Boerne Breaking News, which is a high traffic group and all rights to that group were transferred to its current admin. I have not asked for that back either. I have only requested what is mine.

When I moved to Austin, Texas in April 2023, I told Justin that it was time to give my groups and pages back, and he did not dispute that they were mine. He called and said that since they helped me out financially in January 2023 by giving me $1500, that they wanted me to pay that back before they returned my intellectual property. The problem with that is that A). That has nothing to do with my intellectual property and B). I realized in December 2024, that I negotiated and closed a $36,000 deal for JAM Broadcasting after I was no longer working with the company and asked for no and received no commission, and the revenue from that deal alone was 24 times that amount.

They did give me the admin privileges back to my biggest page that day, Texas Breaking News, after Justin had to make Leslee give them to me, but in August 2023, I gave admin privileges back to Leslee because I wasn’t able to use it how I intended to at that time and again, was trying to be a good friend and help the the people who I wanted to keep the friendship so badly with. I still had not realized what they were doing. I was completely isolated in Austin and still in the middle of dealing with PTSD and struggling with mere survival at that point. But also, had not yet returned to Kerrville, which was the agreement.

There is nothing in writing saying that they have all rights to my news groups and pages. In fact, several times, I have repeated to Justin over text messages and Facebook messages, their own words; that they would return my intellectual property upon my return to Kerrville and never once has that been disputed. The first time was in April 2023, the first time I told them it was time to return my intellectual property when I moved to Austin, Texas.

There still continues to be no resolution, or even an attempt to resolve it. I am not from a wealthy family, and don’t know what legal recourse that I have regarding this manner. I have rebuilt my life from nothing over the past 13 months, just like I built all of my Breaking News assets. I am simply sharing facts, which is my right. Leslee continues to post on my groups and pages and she is doing so without my consent.

I have since created Kerrville Breaking News Uncensored, and my 13-year-old son Jackson is an admin, helping me moderate, who is learning the ropes of the business from me. It is a major injustice to my family that the people who I was helping by letting them use pages and groups that I spent years building, then while I was trying to figure out how to cope with unexpected life events, deceptively stole my intellectual property and continue use them today for their own personal gain, knowing all of this. 

It’s also disappointing that someone who has appeared publicly to be altruistic, would be involved in this type of deceit. He has been told many times that my business was a legacy to be passed down to my kids. They didn’t just steal of these assets from me. They stole them from my kids.

I told them that they could keep using them and that I would leave Leslee on as a moderator/editor, every time that I have asked them to live up to their word, but that wasn’t good enough. And then the last time, they blocked me completely from my own assets that I created, still own and have the rights to, and was only letting them use because I genuinely cared about these people.

This is something that affects me to a level in which I am not willing to just let it go. It’s wrong. If someone lets you use something of theirs and you run off with it and refuse to give it back, it’s theft. It’s pretty cut and dry. 

I don’t believe that many of the owners and managers of the businesses below know what has transpired, but I believe that is in their best interest to know, so that they can make informed decisions on what the best course of action is in their own interest.

I also believe that it is in the best interest of the community to know what happened, because if they’ll use manipulation and deception to steal from me while I was having a personal crisis, it can happen to anyone.

They should be thanking me for what I’ve done for them over the years, and instead, saw my vulnerability as an opportunity to steal my pre-established works from me, which were built with no investors, no loans, only my hard work and sacrifice, years before I even got tangled up with them, trying to help them succeed, and it needs to be known. All of the breaking news assets above belong to me and my family. For the sake of my own personal mental health, I’m done carrying this around alone.

Justin McClure and Leslee McClure saw a successful, yet vulnerable member of the community going through a crisis who had something that they could benefit from and used manipulation tactics and deception to steal it.
