Hello, My name is Mikaela Taylor. First and foremost, I’m a parent to five beautiful children and married to my soulmate, Rae. I’m a driven trans-woman living in the most beautiful place on earth, The Texas Hill Country, which I love dearly. While the terrain is gorgeous here, it’s the people that really make this place beautiful.
I share a message of inspiration and hope because for the first 38 years of my life, I struggled with who I was. It was the day that I finally put my guard down and came out about who I am that was the day that everything changed.
I’ve known who I am since I was a teenager. Grief for a lost loved one and living in a world where I thought that I would never accept me for who I am, coupled with drugs and alcohol in my early years led to a life of despair, frustration, hopelessness, and a slough of other problems along the way.
In July of 2012, somehow by the grace of God, I was able to put the alcohol down for good. I’ve been completely sober since February, 2014.
I’ve had a lot of big wins throughout the way. I’ve spent the majority of the past 10 years as a broadcaster on FM radio stations throughout the Texas Hill Country and San Antonio. I created a news business which grew statewide and was getting 300,000 page views monthly within a year.
In 2019, I helped create a real estate brokerage and headed up the marketing arm of a real estate company and fell in love with helping people with what is usually the biggest transaction that they’ll ever make. My love for seeing the confidence in first-time homebuyers when they get the keys to their home led me to earn my real estate license in 2020.
Since May of 2020, I’ve been the morning show host on “The Morning Mayhem,” heard weekday mornings on 99.1 Mike FM (KZAH-FM) and I’ve continued to help businesses with their marketing and advertising. I pride myself on taking care of my clients and finding out what their needs are and doing everything in my power to make sure they are met. I have a low client attrition rate for this reason.
I’m also a Realtor with Kerrville Real Estate Company and love to help people locate and buy the home of their dreams or sell their home in this ever-changing, fast-paced market that we currently have. I love it and fast-paced is how I roll so it works very well.
In December, 2021, I took a leap of faith, personally and professionally, and came out about who I am and started transitioning. It was by far the scariest thing that I’ve ever done. I’ve been very public about my journey and the support has been incredible. For me, getting to be who I am and also knowing that I’m helping people along the way with their own struggles gives me an incredible amount of purpose in life and satisfaction.
I believe that we are all here to help people and I have made it my mission in life to help as many people as possible accept who they are and love themselves enough to move past anything that is hindering their personal development.
At the time of this writing, I haven’t spoken on any stages as a motivational speaker yet, but I have a story of love and acceptance for yourself and others that is sure to leave attendees with a spark of hope and inspiration.
In June of 2022, part of my story was featured nationwide on NPR program, Here & Now. It ran on over 450 radio stations nationwide to an audience of 4.5 million weekly listeners. You can listen to the audio below.
If there is anyway that I can help you, whether it’s as your Realtor, if you need help with your business’s marketing and advertising, if you need a speaker at your event, or you just flat-out need help with something, I’m here for you. Please feel free to reach out.
