Motivational Speaking and Inspiring People
I firmly believe that our greatest purpose in this life is to help other people.
In May of 2021, my wife was told that she had MS by her doctor’s office. Luckily, they rolled back the diagnosis later on but she still has issues from time to time, most recently in March of 2022.
I knew I needed to do something big. I had to figure out a way to not only be a provider for not only our kids, but possibly also my wife and in my mind, I was preparing for the worst.
I joined this group of the most motivated people that I’ve ever seen in my life called Apex Entourage. These people aren’t playing around. They are hardcore.
I noticed that they weren’t focused on changing everything around them. Instead, they were focused on changing themselves to become the most elite versions of themselves.
So, I bought a bicycle. I started riding it down on the River Trail in Kerrville and I was extremely out of shape. I was extremely unhealthy and I had recently been diagnosed with high cholesterol by my doctor’s office.
The people in this movement of excellence live by to motto of “F*ck your excuses” and don’t let anything stand in their way. They complete an app every day called the Daily G-Code, which focuses on the four G’s of Gratitude, Group, Genetics, and Grind.
Each morning when I wake up, I fill out the gratitude part and then fill in the rest before bed and it really helps me stay focused on becoming the most elite version of myself.
In late November, seeing all of these people living their authentic lives and thinking that there was no way that I could ever live mine, after a conversation with my wife one night, transitioning actually became an option for a split second. Then once it became an option, it wasn’t an option again. I had to face my fears and do it, at whatever costs.
I was promised that we would figure out our way through it and my wife would stay and the kids would be alright, so after doing some research for a week or two, I started calling family members and coming out.
I came out at work, to my friends, to my acquaintances, to my clients, and then after meeting with a therapist for a few weeks I finally came out on Facebook first, then later on the Kerrville Podcast and finally on the air on my morning show.
I never thought I would ever be able to live my truth. I used to think that was only for other people. I was terrified of the outcome of just simply being me. I’m wired female. It’s who I am at the core.
The fact that I was able to stare down fear and adversity and walk right through it unscathed is its own blessing, but it’s also a lesson. We are all called here to do what we are called here to do. I believe that we all know in our gut what that is. The longer we fight it, the more miserable we become.
When we accept who we are, whatever that is, and embrace ourselves as not perfect but still pretty genuinely awesome, life gets good. We get our purpose. We get our stride. And we set ourselves up to be able to help more people.
I was sleeping behind the dumpster at a Chinese restaurant in Nashville at one point in my life. Now I have a beautiful family, I’m the morning show host on the biggest FM station in the area, I’m a Realtor®, and I get to walk around dressed however I want with my nails painted, hair styled, makeup on and doing my thing.
Life literally couldn’t get any better for me. I want others to experience the freedom that comes with finding themselves too, whoever they are and whatever they are fighting, and that’s why I am ready to take my message to the stage.
I don’t donate my time for money. I donate my time because the feeling I get from helping others is worth more to me than any amount of money.
Pay my expenses and I’ll speak on your stage.
